Debt Consolidation at a Glance

To many of us debt consolidation is the only debt relief means that we know about. The interesting thing about debt consolidation is that it more closely relates to bill relief than debt relief. For a better understanding we are going to discuss the two types of debt consolidation.

The first type of debt consolidation is a debt consolidation program. The main purpose of the debt consolidation company is to consolidate your bills into one monthly payment, and as they are doing this they also negotiate your interest rate, payment cycle and penalties. In most cases your payment cycle is set to 5 years or more to pay back 100% of your debt.

The second type of debt consolidation is called a debt consolidation loan. A debt consolidation loan is simply a loan given to pay off your debt. You are already in debt, and it does not make sense to just trade one debt for another. The biggest risk with taking this course of action is that you must borrow against your secured assets to be approved. With a life changing situation the asset could be lost to the debt consolidation loan company. Many consumers have lost their cars, retirement savings or homes because of this.

In either case you are paying back all of your debt with applied interest. If you are looking to pay the full amount of debt you owe along with staying involved with your creditors for longer than 5 years, debt consolidation might be the best answer.

However, if this does not fit within your goals our service can help you pay less than you owe and have you debt free in as little as 12-36 months.
