Rainy Day Help for Homeowners

Are you late with your mortgage payment? Are you concerned about possible home foreclosure due to a job loss? These are real possibilities in today’s rough economy. Help is available, if you know where to go. The Rainy Day Foundation was formed to create and maintain responsible home ownership with an emphasis on protecting homeowners from the unexpected. Rainy Day works with lenders, builders, real estate companies as well as homeowners. In 2008, they launched their HELP program, Homeowner Education and Loan Protection. This program has three main components; to keep homeowners from becoming delinquent, make homeowners current if they are delinquent and create long-term homeowner financial stability.

According to their Web site, the HELP program has  “counseled, educated and financially assisted over 15 thousand homeowners and is projected to provide over $ 8 million in Rainy Day Program funds during 2009. As we move through our current financial environment, the Rainy Day Foundation is committed to our industry partners and our respective homeowners to continue on fulfilling our mission and provide value of service.”
